About Us 

Balanced Yoga For All began in March 2020, amidst the pandemic lockdowns, to serve the needs of local seniors to access safe exercise, to decrease stress, and to connect with a supportive community.  As the lockdowns eased, this yoga community carried on and continues to grow! We offer high quality, safe and effective gentle yoga classes, based on our extensive years of training, teaching and personal practice. While the Hatha Yoga tradition is ancient, the science of safe and effective movement continues to evolve.  We are committed to continuous learning and to guiding safe and effective classes for all participants, including options to modify for health, mobility and/or disability challenges.  We are Certified Hatha Yoga Teachers (Yoga Alliance), which includes training for older adult and restorative yoga practices.  We are Certified Seniors Fitness Instructors (Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging) and Designated HeartWise Instructors (University of Ottawa Heart Institute), meaning we are trained to teach safe exercise classes for participants who have cardiovascular disease, as well as over a dozen other chronic diseases.

I have a deep rooted passion to encourage and guide people to achieve their wellness goals.  I value that precious gift of life within our physical bodies, and although we experience changes in our bodies with age, regular mindful exercise and relaxation are key to maintaining and our ability to do our daily living activities, and to enhance our well-being. Having over 25 years of teaching experience, training and personal practice, I bring a blend of best practices to every class, to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can participate safely and enjoy the benefits of yoga.

I’m delighted to be one of your instructors. As a long-time certified fitness professional, I discovered yoga after many years of balancing family and work responsibilities. What began as a search for balance quickly became a passion, and I’m now certified in both Hatha and Yin yoga.

I deeply value the physical and mental benefits yoga offers—greater strength, flexibility, focus, mindfulness, relaxation, and a sense of calm. It’s a privilege to share these benefits with you, and I look forward to supporting your practice.
